Vinnie Roe will bid to make racing history on Saturday by going for his fourth successive victory in the Irish Field St Leger at the Curragh.
The Dermot Weld-trained six-year-old heads a field of 14 declared for the €168,600 Group One contest over a mile and three-quarters.
He took the 14-furlong showpiece in 2001 when beating Millenary and he has dominated the race ever since.
Vinnie Roe was last seen in action at Leopardstown in August when he finished second to Foreign Affairs in the Listed Ballyroan Stakes.
He will be accompanied by his stable companion Media Puzzle. The seven-year-old won the 2002 Melbourne Cup but was off the track after that until reappearing at the Curragh a month ago when fifth to Solskjaer over 10 furlongs.
Aidan O'Brien's three-strong team comprises of last year's Seabiscuit St Leger hero Brian Boru, Napoleon and Two Miles West.
O'Brien's father-in-law Joe Crowley will run outsider Blue Corrig.
John Oxx, successful with Eurobird in 1987 and with Petite Ile two years later, will be represented by Cruzspiel while Luke Comer's Chimes At Midnight completes the home contingent.
Amanda Perrett's Orange Touch, supplemented at a cost of €30,000, is among a six-strong British challenge.
The others are Sir Michael Stoute's First Charter, Barry Hills's Dubai Success, Alcazar from Hughie Morrison's yard, Geoff Wragg's The Whistling Teal and the Gerard Butler-trained Jagger.
