Harare - Zimbabwe's High Court has ordered war veterans who have invaded white-owned farms over the past month to vacate the land or face eviction by the police.
High Court judge Justice Paddington Garwe declared the farm invasions unlawful, and gave the veterans 24 hours to leave the properties.
The issue has been propelled to the forefront in Zimbabwe since February, when President Robert Mugabe lost a constitutional referendum that would have entrenched the powers of the presidency and authorised the dispossession of white farmers without compensation.
