US warplanes launched air strikes in Falluja for the fourth day running today with attacks on an area in the southeast of the rebel-held city and killing at least one Iraqi.
A doctor at Falluja's hospital said two Iraqis were wounded in the air strike.
After weeks of fighting that killed hundreds of Iraqis in Falluja, 30 miles west of Baghdad, US marines pulled out of the city in May and handed control of security to an Iraqi force.
That force, the Falluja Brigade, has collapsed and the city is now controlled by insurgents.
The US military says Falluja is a haven for foreign fighters linked to Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, and has launched air strikes in the past few months on targets in the city it says were being used by Zarqawi's men.
