Four US soldiers were wounded on today in central Iraq, according to a reporter from Sky TV who was travelling with them.
Journalist Colin Brazier said the reconnaissance scouts were ambushed while driving Humvee jeeps at the head of a column.
He initially reported the four soldiers were killed in the ambush.
"Four U.S. soldiers who were reported to have been killed in central Iraq were just injured. It is thought that they were in two lightly armoured vehicles and hit by rocket propelled grenades," Sky subsequently reported on its Web site.
