Irish pharmaceutical wholesaler United Drug today announced it has acquired the UK business and assets of Nasdaq-listed Ventiv Health for £4.8 million sterling (€7.62 million) in cash.
Ventiv Health has over 30 years experience in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries, and has a wide range of customers in both the US and Europe.
The acquisition has been completed through Ashfield Healthcare, United Drug's contract sales outsourcing division with operations in Britain and Ireland.
"United Drug's strategy is to grow organically, and by acquisition of businesses which complement our existing core operations," chief executive Mr Liam FitzGerald said.
"The acquisition of Ventiv Health's UK contract sales business today will allow Ashfield broaden its product offering to customers and consolidate its position as a leading service provider to the pharmaceutical industry," he said.
