Roy Keane does not have the unconditional backing of Manchester United over his controversial autobiography, according to Old Trafford chief executive Peter Kenyon.

In his book Keane admitted deliberately setting out to injure Manchester City's Alfie Haaland last year - a claim which prompted two charges from the Football Association.

Keane later said he had never set out to injure another player.

Kenyon admits Keane's revelations were not met with unanimous approval at Old Trafford.

"I think it's too easy to say we are supportive. These things are never black and white," Kenyon told the Sunday Telegraph.

Keane is due back at training within a fortnight.
