It is not yet clear if a convicted murderer will to appear in the Coroner's Court today.

Englishman Mark Nash who is already in jail serving life for two murders, has refused to appear at the Coroner's Court which is investigating two brutal murders at Grangegorman Psychiatric Hospital in 1997.

The inquest into the deaths of Sylvia Sheils and Mary Callinan, who were brutally killed at Grangegorman gets underway this morning.

However, Nash, who in the past admitted to having detailed knowledge of the circumstances of the killings, has refused to appear in court.

The Prison Service has said it would deliver Nash to the Inquest but only on foot of a High Court Order.
