Luanda - A besieged Angolan town received its first shipment of food yesterday since the UN suspended flights and withdrew staff from the country's war zones earlier this month following attacks on two of its planes, state television said.
It said a flight sponsored by the UN World Food Programme (WFP) delivered 4,500 tonnes of rice and 1,000 litres of cooking oil to the central Angolan town of Kuito. UN officials in Luanda were unable to confirm the report.
