Ulster Television has acquired Dublin based radio station Lite FM for €14 million.
In addition, UTV will assume liability for the net debt in the Dublin independent station of around €1.3 million.
Lite FM is the most-listened-to Dublin radio station targeting the over-35s. The station has built up a market share of 8 per cent of the Dublin market since it began broadcasting in May 2000.
The acquisition of Lite FM represents a further key step in UTV's strategy to expand its media interests on an all-Ireland basis.
