The chairman of the Ulster Democratic Party (UDP) Mr John White has called on the UDA to make a public statement on the pipe bomb attack on an SDLP office in Belfast last night.

He called for a halt to a spate of such pipe bomb attacks, but said the UDA was not necessarily responsible.
He added the bombings were "totally and absolutely wrong and should stop".
Mr White said Johnny Adair would be angry if the bombing of the north Belfast SDLP office had been in support of his campaign for release from jail.
He said Mr Adair had made clear he did not want "any protest, demonstration or any activity" on his behalf and wanted to pursue his case through the courts.
"He will be very, very angry if people have carried this out on his behalf because it serves no purpose whatsoever."
The attack on the north Belfast offices was condemned "in the strongest possible terms" by the Taoiseach.
The device exploded just before 9 p.m. last night at the offices near Duncairn Gardens.
Mr Maginness said it was "a callous, cowardly attack" linked to his comments following the decision to keep the UFF/UDA Lower Shankill figure Mr Johnny Adair in prison.
Mr Ahern said he agreed with Mr Maginness the incident was "clearly an attack on democracy in Northern Ireland."
The North Belfast SDLP man said he believed the result of the attack could have been much worse. Four people inside at the time were shocked but physically unhurt.
"The fact that there was a steel door that deflected the blast so that it went out rather than in saved them," Mr Maginness said.
