Two men have been rescued after the boat they were in went aground in the Waterford Estuary this morning.
The alarm was raised at around 4.30am when the motorboat, the 10-metre long
Cashin Heather, hit rocks between Woodstown Beach and Creaden Head near Dunmore East.
A spokeswoman for the Fethard-on-Sea lifeboat said lifeboat crews from Dunmore East and Fethard were launched following the distress call.
She said a partly-clothed man in his 20s was found in a life raft. A second man, also in his 20s, was found in the
Cashin Heather.
Both were brought ashore at Woodstown Beach and the first man was taken to Wateford General Hospital for treatment for hypothermia. The second man was said to be suffering from shock.
Neither man was wearing a lifejacket.
Gardaí at Dunmore East are investigating the incident.
