Gardaí have arrested two men aged in their 20s this morning in relation to the fatal attack of Ciaran O’Connell (22) in Co Cavan last weekend.
The men are being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Bailieborough Garda station.
Mr O’Connell died from injuries sustained in an assault during a St Patrick’s Day party at a house in Rosehill, Mullagh, in the early hours of the morning.
He was removed to Cavan General Hospital to be treated for his injuries before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital when his condition deteriorated. He was pronounced dead in the early hours of March 21st.

Mr O’Connell and his family had moved to Mullagh from Dublin some 10 years ago.
