Two men are still being questioned in Dublin today after the discovery of drugs worth €250,000 in the capital yesterday. It was the third major drugs seizure over the weekend.

Gardaí at Crumlin station carried out a search of a house in Rathmines yesterday afternoon and seized cannabis resin and ecstacy.

They arrested two men - aged 22 and 19 - under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act. Two women, also arrested, were released without charge this morning.

Gardaí seized cannabis with a street value of €3,600,000 in separate operations in Galway and Dublin on Friday.

In a joint Customs/Garda swoop, cannabis resin with a street value of €3.5 million was when a lorry was stopped on the Old Swords Road in Dublin. Three hundred kilos of the drug were discovered inside the lorry, concealed in ceramic tiles. A 41-year-old man was arrested and taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station, where he remains in custody today.

In Galway 10 kilograms of cannabis resin with a street value of €100,000 was seized. The seizure was made on Dyke Road in the city. A 22-year-old man appeared at a special sitting of Galway District Court yesterday and was remanded in custody to appear before Galway District Court tomorrow morning.
