Two Dublin men in their late teens were being questioned in Rathmines Garda station last night following the seizure of £30,000 worth of herbal cannabis in a flat in Ranelagh.
A quantity of cash, believed to be around £20,000, was also seized in the raid.
The two men are being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, which allows the gardai detain suspects for up to seven days.
The arrests and seizures came after Customs officers and the gardai carried out a controlled Joint Task Force operation which included allowing the 14 kilos of cannabis pass through Dublin Airport and travel to its destination.
The drugs came into the State from Britain as unaccompanied commercial freight. The freight originated in Johannesburg, South Africa.
