The Government parties should establish an all party approach within Cabinet to the Residential Property Tax (RPT), the Progressive Democrats spokesman, Mr Pat McDowell, said last night.

Meanwhile, the Labour TD for Dublin North West, Ms Roisin Shortall, called for a fundamental review of the tax and social welfare systems following a report to the Oireachtas Committee on the Family. The report revealed that a two parent family living together as a unit was the worst off financially.
