Two men were arrested by gardai investigating the hijacking of a lorry containing an estimated £1 million worth of computer parts in Dublin last month. The men, both with criminal records, were questioned at Santry Garda station. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. The lorry was hijacked by a gang of armed men at Killester on June 9th last while carrying the computer equipment to the port from a factory in north Dublin. The driver was held captive for several hours and found tied to a tree near Roundwood, Co Wicklow, later that day. He was unhurt.
It is believed the robbery was carried out by a gang of well-organised criminals from north Dublin.
