Two men have been arrested in Galway in connection with a shooting incident at the weekend.

Two men have been arrested in Galway in connection with a shooting incident at the weekend.

Shots were fired through the front living room window of a house on the Headford Road shortly after midnight on Saturday.  No one was injured.

A Garda spokeswoman said two men in their 20s were arrested today in connection with the incident. Both are being held at Mill Street Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.  They can be held for up to 72 hours.

It  is understood a firearm was recovered during searches by gardai this morning.
