Two Limerick men charged with the false imprisonment of two other men in the city have been refused bail by the High Court.

Gardai objected to bail and alleged the men were involved in a feud in the city. A garda detective inspector told the court he believed that, if granted bail, the applicants would commit serious offences and would not turn up for their trials.

There was tight security for the bail applications by Mr Anthony McCarthy (21), The Fairgreen, Limerick and Mr Desmond Dundon (20), Hyde Road, Limerick.

They were arrested in Kilkenny on March 28th.
