Two killed in Longford car crash

Two men have been killed and two others seriously hurt in a road crash in Co Longford.

Two men have been killed and two others seriously hurt in a road crash in Co Longford.

The single-vehicle incident occurred on the Longford to Keenagh Road at Craane, near Ballymacormack at 12.30am this morning.

Two men, aged 20 and 22, died in the crash.

A woman in her early 20s and the male driver of the car, aged 23, remain in a serious condition in Mullingar General Hospital.

The woman’s condition is described as critical.

A number of road diversions are in place and gardaí are asking witnesses to the incident to come forward.

The deaths bring to 89 the number of people killed on the roads. This is higher than the 88 killed during the first six months of 2011.
