Two men aged in their twenties were injured in paramilitary-style shootings in Belfast and Derry last night.
A 28-year-old man is recovering in hospital after he was shot in the Poleglass area of Belfast shortly after 9.30pm.
The man was walking in the Twinbrook area, close to St Luke's Church, when he was approached by four masked men who bundled him into a car and drove him to Poleglass where he was shot in both knees and his left ankle.
In Derry, a 26-year-old man was injured in a similar shooting which took place in the Creggan Heights area at about 11.30pm.
During the attack four masked men entered a house in which the young man and three women were. A number of shots were fired and the man received injuries to his left thigh, knee and ankle. He was also shot in the right calf.
The assailants fired a number of shots in the air as they left the house.
None of the women in the house were injured during the incident.
