A man and woman appeared in court today to face charges connected to the death of model Katy French in December 2007. Both Kieran Ducie (40) and Ann Corcoran (29) face the same two charges.

Mr Ducie, of 10 Lambertstown Manor, Kilmessan, Co Meath, and Ms Corcoran of Tolka Road, Clonliffe Road, Dublin 3, were both granted bail by Judge Tom Fitzpatrick when they appeared at Trim District Court.

The first charge alleges that they conspired, with persons not before the court, to possess cocaine for the purpose of supply to another between the 1st and 2nd December 2007 at the Statoil Service Station, Bracetown, Clonee, Co Meath.

The second charge alleges that on the same dates, at 10 Lambertstown Manor, Kilmessan, contrary to Section 13 of the Non Fatal Offences Against the State Act, they intentionally or recklessly engaged in conduct which created a substantial risk of death or serious harm to another.

Evidence of arresting Ms Corcoran at St John Rogersons Quay in Dublin this morning was given by Detective Niall O’Donnell.

The court heard she had nothing to say when the charges were put to her. There was no objection by gardaí to her getting bail and the judge fixed bail on her own bond of €500 with an independent surety of €3,000.

Her father Paul Corcoran was accepted by the court as the independent bailsperson.

Det Insp Alf Martyn gave evidence of arresting Mr Ducie outside his home this morning. He had nothing to say when charged.

Gardaí did not object to bail being granted and his father Kevin Ducie was accepted as a bailsperson. Mr Ducie was remanded on bail of his own bond of €500 and independent surety of €3000.

As a condition of their bail neither accused must interfere with witnesses involved in the case.

Supt Michael Devine, Navan, asked the Judge to adjourn the cases to the next sitting of Navan District Court.

The judge then adjourned both cases to Navan District Court sitting next Wednesday.
