Two men were arrested in Dublin this afternoon after heroin with an estimated street value of between €2 and €8 million was discovered in a car in the Bayside Crescent area of Sutton.
The men, aged 43 and 23, are being detained at Raheny and Santry Garda stations under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
The Garda National Drugs Unit, assisted by the Organised Crime Unit and local drugs units, stopped and searched the car shortly after 12pm today and recovered 10kg of heroin.
The search was part of an ongoing operation into the activities of a group of organised criminals operating in the Dublin area.
