A MAN and a woman remain in Garda custody following the seizure of drugs with an estimated street value of €8 million in south Co Wexford.
The 20-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, both understood to be from Co Cork, were being questioned yesterday following the discovery of 1,145kg of cannabis at Rosslare port.
The drugs were found by Customs officials when they stopped a 12.2m (40ft) container lorry as it drove off a ship that arrived from Cherbourg, France, on Monday.
The consignment, which was marked "footwear", had been hidden alongside regular cargo that is understood to have originated in Spain.
