Two men are due in court this morning following the killing of a Romanian man in Cavan town at the weekend.
The men, who are in their 30s, were arrested near Cavan town at 6pm on Sunday and were being detained at Cavan Garda station yesterday.
Gardaí made the arrests after the man was stabbed to death at a property in Cavan after a number of men forced their way into a rented apartment at Connolly Court, Connolly Street, just after 11pm on Saturday.
Gardaí in Cavan did not confirm whether the man was known to the authorities in Romania, but said they were liaising with Romanian police authorities and Interpol as part of the investigation.
The man's partner, a Romanian national, was with him and is believed to have witnessed the killing.
