A 15-year-old boy was killed when the car in which he was a passenger crashed into a tree at Lacken in Blessington, Co Wicklow, yesterday. The boy was in a jeep driven by his 17-year-old brother. Gardai said the car appeared to have gone out of control at Carraig Forest, crashing into a tree.
The man who died in a road accident in Delvin, Co Westmeath, over the weekend has been named as Mr Shane O'Loan (27) from Blackrock, Co Louth. The accident occurred in Castletown at about 12 p.m. on Saturday when his car collided with a van. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
