Two men have died in separate road incidents in counties Laois and Meath over the weekend.
A male cyclist (51) died in Co Laois this morning when he was struck by a car.
The incident happened at about 9.15am on the Mountmellick to Emo road at Knightstown, Mountmellick. The driver of the car, a woman in her 20s, was taken to Portlaoise hospital where she is being treated for minor injuries.
The road is closed for a examination, and diversions are in place.

Elsewhere, a man was killed following a road crash at Oldcastle, Co Meath, yesterday.
At about 3.30pm the car in which the victim (30) was a passenger was involved in a three vehicle collision on the R195 Virginia road.
He was taken by ambulance to Cavan hospital but was pronounced dead there. The driver of the vehicle also sustained injuries, but these are not thought to be life threatening.
