A MAN and woman appeared in court in Co Meath yesterday to face charges connected to the death of model Katy French in December 2007.

Both Kieran Ducie (40) and Ann Corcoran (29) face the same two charges.

Mr Ducie of Lambertstown Manor, Kilmessan, Co Meath and Ms Corcoran of Tolka Road, Clonliffe Road, Dublin 3 were both granted bail by Judge Tom Fitzpatrick when they appeared at Trim District Court yesterday.

The first charge alleges that on a date and time unknown between December 1st and 2nd 2007 at the Statoil Service Station, Bracetown, Clonee, Co Meath they conspired with persons not before the court to possess cocaine for the purpose of supply to another.

The second charge alleges that on the same dates and times at Lambertstown Manor, Kilmessan, they intentionally or recklessly engaged in conduct to wit the supply of cocaine to Katy French and failure to get medical assistance in a timely fashion which created a substantial risk of death or serious harm to another.

Evidence of arresting Ms Corcoran at Sir John Rogerson’s Quay in Dublin yesterday morning was given by Det Garda Niall O’Donnell.

The court heard that Ms Corcoran had nothing to say when the charges were put to her.

There was no objection by gardaí to her getting bail and the judge fixed bail on her own bond of €500 with an independent surety of €3,000.

Her father Paul Corcoran was accepted by the court as the independent bailsperson.

Det Insp Alf Martyn gave evidence of arresting Mr Ducie yesterday morning outside his home at Lambertstown Manor, Kilmessan.

He had nothing to say when charged, the court heard.

Gardaí did not object to bail being granted to Mr Ducie and his father Kevin Ducie was accepted as a bailsperson.

Mr Ducie was remanded on bail of his own bond of €500 and independent surety of €3,000.

Garda Supt Michael Devine, Navan, asked the judge to adjourn the cases to the next sitting of Navan District Court.

The judge then adjourned both cases to Navan District Court sitting next Wednesday.
