Two people have been arrested today by detectives investigating the murder of a man in Co Cork last year.
A man and a woman have been separately detained for questioning in connection to the murder of 25-year-old John McManus from Fermoy, Co Cork.
Mr McManus's body was recovered from marshy undergrowth in Ballyduff, north Co Kerry, on November 6th last.
The woman, who is in her 30s, was arrested this morning in connection with his death and is currently being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Gurranabraher Garda station in Co Cork.
A man in his 40s was then arrested this afternoon on the north side of Cork city and is currently detained under the same conditions at Mayfield Garda Station in Cork city.
Gardaí investigating Mr McManus's murder believe he was most likely killed on October 30th in his flat at Verdon Place on Wellington Road in Cork city.
It is believed his body may have been left in the flat for a number of days before being removed to a field near Ballyduff.
Mr Mc Manus was last seen in the Mayfield area of the city on October 30th and gardaí were notified of his disappearance after his family became concerned when he failed to contact them.
