Two men were arrested this morning in connection with a bank robbery at Rathfarnham in south Dublin.
At about 12pm yesterday, a lone gunman entered a branch of the Bank of Ireland in the Rathfarnham shopping centre and demanded money from a cashier.
He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. and was seen getting into a small blue car.
The car was found abandoned a short time later. No shots were fired during the incident and there were no injuries reported.
The two men, aged in their mid-30s and early 40s, were arrested in the Dublin 8 area.
They are being detained at Rathfarnham Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences the State Act 1939.
Investigations are continuing.
