Bogota - One of Colombia's most prominent television personalities said yesterday he was leaving the country because of threats against him and his family thought to be linked to a Marxist rebel group engaged in slow-moving peace talks with the government.
Mr Fernando Gonzalez Pacheco (67) is the latest in a long line of people in the media spotlight forced to flee Colombia because of extortion, kidnapping or death threats. His departure reinforces Colombia's image as the most violent country in Latin America.
