Ankara - Five Turkish policemen failed yesterday to turn up at a trial on their alleged involvement in the murder of a left-wing journalist, despite the Prime
Minister, Mr Mesut Yilmaz, ordering them to appear in court.
Anatolian news agency said none of the 48 policemen charged in the beating to death of the journalist, Mr Metin Goktepe, in 1996 appeared at the trial. -
