London - Hundreds of angry callers have bombarded the Turkish embassy with abuse and threats following the death of two Leeds soccer fans in Istanbul this week.
"We've received hundreds of calls of abuse with some nasty threats," said an embassy spokesman, Mr Orhan Tung. "It is a pretty unavoidable reaction of the public" to the stabbings on Wednesday night, he said. Leeds fans yesterday filed through their Elland Road stadium yesterday to lay wreaths to the victims of the street violence.
