A judge who felt a man who leased a truck had not got a very good deal was told yesterday that the transaction had taken place when interest rates were very high. Circuit Court President Mr Justice Esmond Smyth granted judgment of £15,697.01p against Mr Simon Tobin, Glendoher Drive, Rathfarnham, Dublin, in favour of ACC Bank in the Circuit Civil Court yesterday. Mr Micheal O Scanaill, counsel for ACC, told the court that when the bank had attempted to repossess the truck, another party, who alleged Mr Tobin owed him money, had exercised a lien over it.
