Train drivers seeking a £7,000 a year pay rise in restructuring talks with Iarnrod Eireann have decided to take industrial action at the end of June, if talks do not reach a satisfactory conclusion by then, writes Industry and Employment Correspondent, Padraig Yeates. Train drivers currently earn about £28,000.
The National Locomotive Drivers' Group made the decision at a meeting in Dublin late yesterday. A spokesman, Mr Brendan Ogle, said that it would not decide until it met on June 28th what form industrial action would take. Much would depend on what progress was made in talks by then.
