The Conservatives are set to unveil a new advertising poster before polling day, featuring a picture of Mr Blair and urging voters to "burst his bubble" - a tactic taken by some to mean Mr William Hague has accepted the election is already lost.

"Only one party in this election has an unbreakable commitment to stability. The choice is stability and investment or those parties that threaten a return to boom and bust."
A clutch of polls in today's newspapers predicted a second massive win for Labour in nextThursday's election.
An ICM survey in the News of the Worldpointed to a 197 majority, a Sunday Times-NOP poll would produce a 217 seat majority, an Observer-ICM poll suggested a 170 seat majority, and a Sunday Telegraph-Mori poll would give a massive 253 seat margin.
