London - The Tory chairman, Mr David Davis, yesterday announced the controversial Monday Club has been suspended from any association with the Conservative Party because of its right-wing views on race and immigration.
Mr Davis, speaking after a meeting with club officials, said he had asked them to review their membership and reform their constitution so it did not permit any pronouncement on the sensitive issues. He added unless the changes he had urged were agreed to, the club's suspension from associating itself with the Conservatives would become permanent.
