JOURNALIST EAMON Dunphy married long-term partner Jane Gogan, a film producer and RTÉ commissioning editor, at a ceremony in the Unitarian Church on St Stephen’s Green yesterday.
“I was under instructions not to get emotional so, so far, I haven’t,” Dunphy said afterwards. “I felt very nervous but it was a lovely service. I’m very happy, we both are.” Wearing a mint-green dress and clutching a spray of white lilies, Ms Gogan pulled up to the church in a Rolls Royce.
The groom’s daughter, Colette Dunphy, said she was “delighted” for the happy couple. “I’m really happy for them . . . him and Jane are a perfect couple and so in love and we’re just thrilled.” Senator Shane Ross acted as best man while Liam Brady and Bill O’Herlihy attended the ceremony. O’Herlihy said it had been a beautiful service. “The whole thing was done with great style. Eamon was concerned that he would be very emotional, but he wasn’t.”
