Three people arrested in Britain in connection with the terror attacks in the US were today still being questioned by police after a fourth suspect was released without charge.
A spokesman for Scotland Yard said an extension had been granted by magistrates to keep the three suspects, a man aged 27 a 25-year-old woman and a man in his 40s in custody until Wednesday.
A further application would need to be made to magistrates to allow officers the full seven days of questioning allowed under the Terrorism Act, he added.
The seven day period expires at 3 a.m. on Friday, he said.
Four people were arrested on Friday after a series of raids in Berkshire, west London and Birmingham and taken to police stations in central London.
A 29-year-old man arrested in west London was released without charge last night, police said.
