Three men were stabbed in separate incidents in Limerick over the weekend.
A 50-year-old man who was stabbed in the back of the head at his home in Newcastle West on Sunday morning was in a comfortable condition after undergoing emergency surgery in the Mid-Western Regional Hospital.
In Limerick city on Sunday night a 23-year-old man was slashed in the face as he walked in O'Connell Street. Gardai said a man walked up behind him and "gave him a jab with some sort of sharp object". He was released from hospital after being treated for his injuries.
At 3.45 a.m. yesterday a 27-year-old man was stabbed in the back in O'Connell Street. His injuries were not serious.
