Three people have died following separate road traffic collisions in Co Kerry, Co Killkenny and Co Armagh overnight.

Three people have died following separate road traffic collisions in Co Kerry, Co Killkenny and Co Armagh overnight.

In Co Kerry an 18-year-old man was killed when the car he was a passenger in was involved in a collision with a jeep.

Gardai later named him as Ray Stryker, from Kilmaniheen West, Brosna, Co Kerry.

The incident happened at 7.45pm yesterday evening on the N21 at Kilmanihan, located between Feale's Bridge and Hedley's Bridge.

The driver of the car was seriously injured and the driver of the jeep sustained injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

All 3 men were taken to Tralee General Hospital.

In Thomastown a 20-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a car while out walking on the N9 at Kilfane in Co Kilkenny.

The collision happened shortly before 2am this morning. The deceased was removed to St Lukes Hospital.´

The victim was later named as Patrick Hayes from Market Street, Thomastown, Co Kilkenny,

Meanwhile, another man was killed and two people were seriously injured in a collision on the Portadown road outside Armagh.
