THREE MEN have appeared in a Co Tipperary court in relation to an incident in which a man was shot and another stabbed in the back.

Ross Buckley (21), Kieran Keane (19) and Tyrone O’Connor (20), all with addresses in Limerick city, appeared before Roscrea District Court yesterday.

They were arrested on Tuesday night following an alleged assault at a house at Glen Court, Emly, Co Tipperary, at about 3.30pm.

All three were charged before Judge David Anderson yesterday with causing an affray at Emly.

Det Garda Kevin O’Keefe of Tipperary Garda station gave evidence of arresting Mr Keane, of Green Hills Road, Garryowen, Limerick, and told the court that the accused made no reply when charged.

Mr O’Connor, of Broad Street, Limerick, and Mr Buckley of Briarsfield, Castletroy, Limerick, also made no reply when the charge was put to them.

All three were granted legal aid, and solicitor John Herbert said bail applications for the three would be made next week.

Supt Pat O’Connor of Templemore Garda station told the court that further charges were anticipated in the case of Mr O’Connor.

Judge Anderson remanded all three in custody to appear before Roscrea District Court on April 8th.
