An investigation is to be carried out today into the cause of a fire at an American wood processing plant in Waterford city last night.
Three people were injured in the fire at the Lousiana Pacific factory which employs 170 people at its premises near Waterford harbour.
They were taken to Waterford Regional Hospital suffering from minor burns and slight injuries. One was later discharged and the other two were held overnight for observation. Units from the local fire brigade had the fire quickly under control. The investigation will be carried out by the Garda and the Health and Safety Authority.
