Three men have been arrested following the seizure of a quantity of drugs and a firearm in two separate searches in Dublin yesterday.
Two of the men were detained after gardaí from Pearse Street Drugs unit raided a house on Sean McDermott Street yesterday morning at about 11.30am.
The search uncovered what is thought to be heroin with a street value of €100,000 and €40,000 worth of valium tablets, along with €45,000 in cash and a handgun with ammunition.
The men, one in his late 20s and one in his mid-teens, were detained under Section 2 of the Drug trafficking Act.
A second search in Balbriggan shortly after 3pm yeilded €300,000 worth of heroin, €20,000 worth of valium tablets, €3,000 in cash and drug paraphenalia.
Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s, and brought him to Pearse Street Garda station, where he is being held under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
