Three men were arrested in Cork yesterday after gardaí stopped and searched two cars which were found to contain €170,000 of cannabis herb.
In an ongoing operation in the sale and supply of drugs in Cork city, gardaí from the Anglesea division stopped the vehicles in the Bishopstown area of the city at about 10.30am yesterday.
Three men aged 25, 28 and 30 were arrested under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act, under which they can be held for up to seven days without charge.
One man was brought to Togher Garda station, while the other two men are being held at Bridewell station in Cork.
