Two men and a woman appeared before Wexford District Court yesterday afternoon charged in connection with a drugs haul in Glenbrien at the weekend.
Foreign nationals Giang Chein La (45), Hong Pong Le (47) and Wen Vu (46), all of no fixed abode, were all charged with the unlawful possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis for the purpose of sale or supply, and the cultivation of cannabis plants without licence at Ballinastraw, Glenbrien, Enniscorthy, on September 15th.
Garda Sgt Noel McSweeney gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution in respect of all three men. He said he was objecting to bail as the three could not provide an address, saying only that they were living in Carlow but were unable to narrow it down further.
Solicitor Ed King, acting for the three men, said he was not applying for bail at this stage. Judge Gerard Haughton remanded the men in custody until next Monday’s sitting of the court, directing for the presence of a Vietnamese and Chinese interpreter.
