Three men were arrested this evening after what is believed to have been a hoax anthrax scare at Dundrum Garda Station.
The men are being held in Blackrock Garda Station, Co Dublin, after Dundrum Garda was sealed off when a person brought a letter suspected to contain the anthrax bacteria to the building.
However the Garda now believe the incident was a hoax though the letter will be examined for anthrax.
It was also announced today that tests on 16 other packages suspected to contain anthrax have proved to be negative.

The packges were delivered to different addresses around the Republic last Wednesday and Thursday. Tests on other suspect packages are still be carried out.
