The refurbished chamber in which the 108 Assembly members will conduct their business from next Monday was opened to the press yesterday. It is in the old Stormont parliament chamber which was destroyed by fire a number of years ago.
The colour scheme is strictly neutral, with no flags or emblems in the room. There is pale-blue carpeting and ornate cornicing.
Parties have agreed a seating arrangement of horseshoe-shaped tables with seating for 58 members, together with further seating around the walls for the remaining members.
