London - The makers of ITV legal drama Kavanagh QC, starring actor John Thaw, will today step into the dock accused of failing to imitate correctly the Norfolk accent.
Norfolk locals will tell Channel 4's Right To Reply programme that a recent Kavanagh QC episode set in Norwich was guilty of turning their distinctive dialect into an "oo-aar, oo-aar" rustic burr which sounded more like a comedy West Country accent.
Central TV will claim in its defence that it received no complaints despite more than 10 million people tuning into the show, which was broadcast on April 14th.
