A body found on the beach at Mullaghmore, Co Sligo, last weekend has been sent to a Dublin laboratory for DNA testing. The discovery was made on Saturday by a woman out walking her dog.
Gardai are not ruling out the possibility that the remains, consisting of a skull and a number of bones, could be those of Galway man, Adrian O'Sullivan (23), from Moycullen, who was swept out to sea by a freak wave while visiting the resort with friends this time last year. His body was never found.
A commemorative stone and seat in memory of Mr, O'Sullivan and honouring those who took part in the search were unveiled at Mullaghmore on Sunday last following an anniversary Mass.
