Johannesburg - The once feared Afrikaner nationalist leader, Eugene Terre blanche, was yesterday sentenced to imprisonment for six years in the Pretoria High Court for attempted murder and assault intending grievous bodily harm, Patrick Laurence reports.

Terreblanche, leader of the neo-fascist Afrikaner Weer stands beweging or AWB, had appealed against his conviction for the assault on two black men in Ventersdorp, his home town where the AWB's national headquarters are located. One of his two victims, Paul Motshabi, suffered brain damage during the assault.
